C-c-cold!

Again..Just want you to know that it's super cold here, these days it has been around -20 and more. Not the average temperature for November-December! Normally it's like this in January-February.

Ooh my poor toes and fingers!

Night

Pictures I took Friday night. Tried to capture the beauty of the night but with an old camera it didn't really turn out as I wanted, and then the battery ran out. My hands were too cold for taking pictures anyway.

On Friday I went on a great performance art evening, Platform Live again. I would have taken pictures if I had battery power left.
Saturday was a quiet day at home and today I baked bread + gingerbread, and drank hot mulled wine. A good weekend indeed!

Also forgot to link to artists Chloe Lewis and Andrew Taggart, they have been here as Platforms residency artists in November. They make interesting things.

Hope your weekend was good!

Buckwheat ♥

My new favorite breakfast is cold buckwheat porridge mixed with a banana, grated apple and blueberries. Topped with a Kiwi! I got this recipe from a friend who's vegan.
Just soak (1 dl) buckwheat in water overnight in the fridge and blend it in the morning with fruit and berries. Add honey if you want it sweeter. I'm sure vanilla extract would work great too.

The other two pictures are taken this afternoon around 15 pm when I drove home from work, yes! I took my camera with me:) I stopped and took some pictures but had to quit because my fingers were so cold. It's freezing here!!

Calm & vague

The roses I got from my grandmother on my birthday are slowly beginning to wither. Wonder that they haven't wilted before now when they get this little amount of daylight.
It has started to darken outside when I come home from work every day. How will I be able to take some pictures in pure daylight for this blog this following month!? Don't wanna use flash all the time..

It's also getting colder and colder and I do believe that the snow is here to stay.
It's those days when I think it's very cosy to lit some candles and drink a cup of tea while knitting (or crocheting now that I've learned how to do it..)
Feels so good to just do this and not sit on needles and feel like I'm in a hurry to do this and that. Maybe it's my new age, 27 that has made me very grown up :)

Hope you had a good weekend! Mine was very calm...of course!!

And more

Now some random daytime shots from Helsinki. We visited Rasmus brother's family on Saturday and ate a lovely pasta puttanesca + dessert for lunch, so so good! Their dog Alfons was hungry for the dessert:) It was a good start of the day.

I'm not going to write more, because I'm a real sleepyhead now..goodnight!

Sushibar

More pictures from Helsinki..
We filled our stomachs before the show on Saturday. At a nice place near the gallery, located in the design district of Helsinki.

1 more Helsinki post coming up->

Nighttime in Helsinki

Yesterday was so much fun! Lots of laughter and lovely people. Here are some pictures from Jasas exhibition and afterwards. The exhibition consisted of a crazy performance that the audience also took part of. Smash and destroy!

Beetroot soup with fetacheese cream, been eating that since yesterday, for lunch and dinner. so good.

I'm sitting in a car down to Helsinki right now! Wireless is good.

I posted this back in January. Jasa our friend and artist is back to do a show but this time in Helsinki! So we're going to be on his happening which will take part tomorrow. And Rasmus, my dear companion is going to play music through the whole event. It's going to be fun:)

If I got time, I see you here tomorrow. Otherwise hopefully on Sunday! Have a great weened!

Superfoodtopping

I got inspired to make this superfoodtopping to put on yoghurt etc. Found over at Blueberry. Mix of nuts, linseed, hemp seeds, chia seeds, goji berries, dried apricots, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, raw cocoa, raisins, buckthorn powder and grated coconut. Mix in a large jar and take a couple of tablespoons every day!

+ I actually bought a wake up light today..thought I would never buy something like that. But just because it's incredible hard to wake up every morning during these months, it's too dark! Let's see if this will make it a little bit easier.

Collecting cones

Today I went to pick tree cones, gonna use them for christmas crafting with the schoolkids. Now I will try to remove sap from the cones, easier said than done!

We've also cleaned out the closets in the apartment, sorting and sorting. It was something that really needed to be done..All this stuff! why do I always save everything?

How has your weekend been?

Dim light

Dark months ahead..think I'm going to prepare myself with some extra vitamin D this year.

Since I work during the day and not able to take pictures, then many of my pictures will be taken in dim light when I come home.. it's getting darker. But who cares, at least it's cosy!

Knitting/weaving

Lovely knitted green cylinder from Ferm Living.

Today I bought yarn. I want to start knitting again, the same inspiration blooms every year at this time!
I would like to knit a puff daddy stool from Pickles !

I have also long wanted to weave my own big rug. My grandmother has a large loom, but it's been taken apart in pieces. I'm thinking either build it up and let my granny teach me to weave (she would love that) or join an evening class with all the old ladies:) Has anyone here woven a big rug, how long did it take?

1.11

Some pictures taken this weekend. I ate the last turkish delights and now the box is empty, need to buy more! They are addictive, especially together with my afternoon coffe.

I don't really know what to blog about. Nothing new is happening here so it'll do with these short sporadic posts. Hoping for more inspiration later in the week!
