The weather has been so grey today, but the mood is on top! I've been making mini cupcakes for a masquerade party tonight. Haven't made cupcakes in a long time and they don't look very good but the taste is ok. I might put up some pictures tomorrow.
Now I'm going to drink a glass of white wine and dress up.
Food is fun. I made risotto today, haven't done it in a long while..YUM! It's always so good. And the handmade risotto "spoon" from Sicily (a gift from R:s parents) makes the stirring better;)
On a Monday..when there's enough energy for motivation. I've been making A LOT of carrot bread and red curry-bean beefs! Good things to fill up the freezer with. Had to use up some ingredients that soon expire.
Woke up early today. We went out "sightseeing" with Rasmus parents who were here on a visit. We saw the cathouse and even a bathouse, among other things;)
Bu..my little sufi dancer fell from his place and lost his head. Looks like I can fix it with glue though. Good.
What? Is it already Friday tomorrow? What is it with time, I think it goes faster than ever now. My week has been a normal and calm one. I'm doing a wallpainting at work again, at the section for the younger kids(where I'm not normally working). Something with squirrels this time:) well, their place is called "ekorrarna" meaning the squirrels.
I've started to take my medicine, so now I'm slightly excited..if I will notice any difference at all in how I feel. ..And I started baking my own bread again!
It's a beautiful day today. Time for a walk in the park! What a good feeling to not have anything important to do, I can just relax and take care of myself. What are you doing today?
Friday's here already! My day started with some expensive bloodtests at a private hospital..I told you about my Thyroid-problems a few months ago. Well now I'm finally going to try a 6 months long thyroid medication and see if it stabilizes. I hope I soon will feel like myself again! Is there somebody else here with thyroid problems? Feel free to comment!
After work I made a spicy carrot/coconut soup, so good on a cold autumn day like today. + I bought this long "knitted" dress from H&M for 10euros..I'm thinking of Pippi Longstocking when I look at it:)
I found a new good foodblog, in swedish this time.
A funny thing about working with children are all the drawings you get! My locker at work is now full of drawings, but I had to take this funny little "catfish" home! It hangs on the fridge and cheers me up -I love it's facial expression:)
Pictures from the past few days. Fall days are perfect for cosy and long dinners. Especially something with roasted root vegetables.
They were right, the first snow/hail came today. It was only a short time, but the kids at the preschool immideately started to collect the snow in buckets:) They were more keen on it than me..
Something good: I also might get to teach art to the 4th, 5th and 6th graders in primary school. Only once a week but that's anyway something! I will know more about it soon, but it would start in a few weeks.
Two pics from the weekend. Hmm, it feels weird to not work on the exhibition anymore. But I think the intense work woke up my inspiration much more! So after I've cleaned up the studio + filled up with more oil paint it's time for a new project.
I will try to slowly get back to blogging again, been away too long except for some quick "hellos"! Don't want it to be like that:) But thank you so much for the comments lately! Now I will finally check your blogs, wonderful!
Brr, it's getting colder here, they even promised snow this week..already!?
BIG PS. It was my little sister Sophia's 21th birthday yesterday (10.10.-10)! Grattis igen min söta.
I'm back! I forgot to take my camera with me on our vernissage on Friday, but I will hopefully get some pictures that Johanna took. Anyway, here are some pictures of some of my paintings/drawings and Johannas photographs that are now hanging on the gallery walls, sorry for the bad pictures they're too dark and blurry.
"Alster- a piece of us" is an exhibition all about fear and identity through photography and paintings. Johanna's photographs reflects fear of losing control while Maria's paintings depict a form of escapism."
and then some of Johanna's beautiful photographs (wish I had a better picture): This last one is my favourite. A portait of our friend Sawandi together with his grandfather. It belongs to the series about somehow "different" finnish-swedish Ostrobothnian men with a strong identity. It doesn't belong to the same theme as the rest of the exhibition. I wish Johanna had a homepage so you all could have a better look and see more of her works.
Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm an artist from the west coast of Finland. I love taking pictures of everything I see and many of them end up here on my blog. It's my little visual diary which I can share with everybody. Please ask me if you want to use some of my pictures. Feel free to comment!
