A movie

Anyone seen the movie Mister Lonely?
I just saw it a couple of days ago and I loved it! The movie came out in 2007 and I can't believe i missed it.
Seems like it got quite hard critics though, some people hated it. I admit that it was a bit weird sometimes but in a fascinating way. And very, very beautiful.
I recommend it to anyone who haven't seen it!

A party

On Friday we went to our friend, artist Ulrika Ferms birthdayparty which was held in a flat in an old soapfactory. The flat belongs to Platform gallery and is a space for Artists In Recidence. It's a huge and lovely place, one big room. I wish I could live like that one day!
Besides that, the soapfactry now contains several studios for artists.
(btw. I don't know if these soaps have any connection with the factory, but perhaps)

Finally, the party was great, good food and good mood:)

Frustration

Today: working and eating on the floor.
Why can it sometimes be so hard to work (in my case, paint) for somebody when you're free to do whatever you want? That should be easy peasy but not for me, since I don't know these people.
I feel like it would have been easier if they had given me a theme to go after.
Tomorrow I'm going to send in some sketches and wait for their answer, wish me luck please:)

I got a wonderful package all the way from Australia! The book "And we stod alone in the silent night" by Gracia Haby and Louise Jennison, I love it!! I really admire their work.

Artsy weekend

The third Mope08, Movement to performance-festival took place here this weekend. The whole thing was organized by Platform. It has been a very fun weekend filled with crazy shows! My Rasmus was also performing on Friday with an audiovisual performance.

The third and last little post for today.
Here are some lovely soaps which are handmade here in Vasa. Sea buckthorn, tar, lingonberry and apple. They smell so good and old-fashioned. The tar-soap reminds me of my great grandparents, they always had one which made the bathroom smell of tar:)

The season is definitely over for this little waterpark in my town. I find it quite inspiring when it is deserted like this.
Right now it's so cold outside, yesterday evening I had to wear my winterjacket and still I was freezing! Brrr!

The weekend passed so fast, it's already Sunday!
I won't have much time for blogging this following week, I've got so much to do! Therefore I'll just post some more today:)

Colour map

Today I've been making these, which are finally going to be a big colour map for oil colours. It will take some time to fill them with paint!

Now I'm drinking my green tea and wondering about the fake big bang experiment that the Cern-scientists started today, it is all kind of surreal to me so I don't know what to think of it.
Do you think it could transform the whole world into a black hole? Hmmm...it's weird.

Saturday

Yesterday we went to my familys summercottage which was quite relaxing. And cold too! There's no electricity, only a fireplace and candles. In the evening it got very dark and I actually got a bit scared to go outside! I sat inside doing crosswords while Rasmus was outside doing a timelapse of the stars:)

A closeup of my old beloved commode which we painted turquoise. It used to belong to my great grandmothers sister and has been white and light yellow before. I think it will be seen in at least one other colour.

Today is my last day off! Tomorrow I start working two evenings a week again plus I'll soon start to do a part of my practical training.
The sun is shining for once so I will quick do the things I need to do at home and then bike to town, enjoy the sun and meet my cousin who is here for a few days!
