Old matchboxes

I found these matchboxes at a fleamarket yesterday. I think they're quite funny:) but also nice somehow. Don't know what I'll do with them though, just for collecting maybe.

A treasure!

Look what I got today! A package from Italy filled with lovely artwork. I'm so happy and proud of the print " winter suspicious" that I bought from Dessa, I simply love her work. I felt like a child on Christmas when I opened it:)


I had a coffee while enjoying the day and then off to work.

Workspace

I was tagged by Esti to show my workingspace!
This is my small table at home where I have my important things like computer (I long for a laptop), pens and sketchbooks. A bit more clean than my studio in school...--->




My studio is not very cosy but it's quite spacious and good for the time I'm still studying. I mostly sit on the floor while painting, but the floor in the studio is too cold so I have to use a stand.


I found poor Daddy Long Legs flat under a pile of books.

Old painting

Here is an old painting i did. I think it's about 2 or 3 years old (have the date on the painting i think) It's now hanging in my sisters room:) It is quite big.
When I look at it I see how much my style has changed over the past years..I think the painting is too "worried", too much going on in it. I moved forward but you can still see for example the black ink lines in my newer work too (except from the swimmingpool-project). I will show you some new paintings soon so you also can see the difference.

Waiting

Today I'm late for school..I'm doing my own project so it's ok. No one is waiting for me! ...except that I wait for myself to start working...

Yesterday I had a "studio-speech" with Barry Sykes who now is here as an Artist In Residence. It was interesting and I got some refreshing ideas. My head is boiling over with artworks I want to do:)

So there are many interesting things going on! I love it, hope that it will go on like this for a while..
Hope that all of you feel inspired too:)

Sunday in Vasa

This morning i woke up on my mom's sofa with little Ebba next to me:)
It has been a wonderful, sunny day!



They planned to make apartments in these old pipes! I think that would be great, but unfortunately the pipes were in too bad condition so they will tear them down.

Friday: Exhibition, party and a flood

Friday evening started with the opening of Ulrika Ferms exhibition and after that it was Eine Kleine Disko which again was collaborated with Platform. The party was great though it ended with a small flood.


They had a typewriter there so all the partypeople could write something if they felt like it:)

We went to a factory outlet store this morning where they sell all kinds of textile at a cheap price.

Polaroids

It is really sad that Polaroid will stop producing film. I haven't used my polaroid camera for a long time because I don't have any film left..Now I have a reason to save money to buy lots of film. Hope they still have any left in stock.
I read about it here first.

Sunday bloody Sunday

We had a late breakfast today..
I had a strange dream this night. I dreamt that I took care of 5 black kittens which all had small trunks like elephants...they were so cute :)
Today is cleaning day at work and it's my turn. But the weather is exactly the same as yesterday so it doesn't attract me at all to go outside.
More positive thoughts please!
Hmm..I just have to put on my dangerous rubber boots and challenge it:)...besides it's only one block away...

The poster on my wall is from Art Brut in Lausanne. It's very dark inside the museum. Impressive and scary art ..wonderful.

It's grey and boring weather today. The snow is slowly melting. This is the time of the year that I dislike the most. Wet. Grey. Slippery. Brr.

Chestnuts

I tried to roast my own chestnuts in the oven but failed...They just bacame harder and burned =not eatable. Someone knows how to do it right?

Food

Just have to show you my fav cookbook.
If you ever go to Zürich you have to go to Hiltl or Tibits restaurant! They are two different vegetarian restaurants but share the same recipes. I prefer Tibits because it's a little more "laid-back". But the food at both places is just great! My cookbook is filled with recipes from there.
Ok, I'm missing Zürich again...but there is a slight chance I'm going there soon...

(For all you who don't know what this is:
It's a traditional bun people in the North eat on a certain Tuesday every year. You can buy it almost the whole year i guess, but today is anyway THE Tuesday here in Finland).

Sunday...my weekend has been kind of hectic so today I won't do anything at all. Just eat and take it easy! How was your weekend?

I never wrote about this but I got a "you make my day-award" from Marie-Louise a while ago! I'm so thankful for that, makes me happy if my blog is even a bit interesting for you who visit it sometimes!
